What am I doing?!?!

I do not even know where to begin this post. I guess I will start with saying that I am a person who when I find something I enjoy I become obsessively compassionate about it. I handle most everything in my life this way. From being a mother, to my carrier, to my hobbies.

I am at a standstill right now with my carrier. I am at the point where I do not know what to do with myself when it comes to my carrier. I am a child care provider/ pre-k teacher, but for me I feel I am so much more than that. I feel like I am a voice for what these children need in their lives. When I decided that I wanted to open my own child care years back I never knew that it would consume me so much. I never knew it involved so much more than just watch other peoples children, and making sure they were properly taken care of. And if you are a child care provider and that is all you and you are fine with... then maybe you are in the wrong line of work. These people who we are caring for are tiny little bodies of endless possibility and wonder.  The things I have learned about children and from them amazes me more and more every day. They have untappable amounts of wisdom and potential. Children are seriously the greatest.  What frustrates me about children are ADULTS, plain and simple. Everywhere I turn I have to deal with ADULTS trying to conform these children into cookie cutter, one sided learning, clones of themselves. ADULTS who expect me to set goals, and do observations on these children like they are lab rats, rather than letting them be children and be creative and have fun. These children are expected by their parents to start kindergarten even though they do not make the age cut off. They are expected to be reading sight words by the time spring arrives. These adults expect to see PORTFOLIOS on their four year olds!! Your child do not need a portfolio at 4 years old. Your child needs imagination, and creativity, and the ability to zip his or her own coat by themselves, NOT test scores, and grades, and assessments.

I hope I am not confusing any of you. I do think that education is important to young children, and this age is the perfect time to introduce letters and numbers, and the sounds letters make, and the concepts of reading and writing, I just do not think that we need to be setting big huge goals for individual children, and then revamping everything we do as educators to make sure we are meeting those goals for those children and putting a dead line on it. I do not think that as a Pre-K teacher making next to nothing that I should be made to spend hours upon hours making elaborate lesson plans, with written out goals for each specific child on my time off, and get paid the same amount of money as someone who isn't expected to do this. I just do not.

Newest bzz campain

I am a bzz agent and was asked to join a campain to test out some baby products. The products I recieved were Krogers brand of baby products called Comforts. I recieved a tube of wipes, two sippy cups and a coupon for a free package of diapers. (I LOVE FREE DIAPERS!!)

1. THE WIPES!
if you are ever at a kroger store, and are in need of wipes I suggest trying out the comforts baby wipes. The plastic tube they come in is worth the very affordable price. It has a large, soft rubber opening where you take the wipes out of that makes "fishing" for wipes very easy! any mother knows that when you have a messy diaper to deal with having to dig out wipes is a pain in the butt! The wipes them selves are quite soft and sturdy, just a few did the trick for the messy diapers I had to clean!
2. THE DIAPERS
I decided to get the size 5 diapers for my son. A box of 70 was priced right under $15.00 which I thought was very reasonable. They have the cutest little bugs on them, and held up to my sons wet and messy diapers. They didnt seem to sag too much, and can hold quite a bit of wetness. I would suggest these as well if your looking of a good priced diaper.
3. I have not tryed the sippy cups yet as my 2 1/2 has a million sippy cups I figured I would keep these ones sealed up until my youngest starts useing cups. But from looking at them I see they have a cover that is attached to the lid which is a feature I love for germ purpases!

Playtex Sports wipes

Hey guys I am a member of crowdtap and was recently asked to do a sample share of the new playtex sport body wipes. I never actually recieved the sample of the wipes but I did go out and purchase some on my own. I did try out the wipes and I like them. The wipe its self is very soft and about the size of a tissue. The smell is great, not too over powering, but definitely a clean smell. These wipes are alcohol free which I like because they won't dry out the skin. Another thing I loved about them is they didn't leave a sticky residue on my skin after using them. I will totally recommend these to friend. I think they will be great to use this summer to take camping or to clean up after tanning.

Tom's of Maine Product Review!

Hey guys, as you know, I contacted Tom's of Maine a couple weeks back and asked them if they would be willing to let me try out some products and review them on my blog. I was so excited that they said yes, and even more surprised yesterday when I came home to a big envelope from Fed Ex. Inside the envelope was three different products for me to try out.

I first want to talk about what makes Tom's of Maine products so different than any other product on the market right now. All of the products are natural, They don't include artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. They also do not use any animal products or test on animals at all!

**The first product I tried was the Tom's of Maine wicked fresh spearmint ice flavored tooth paste. This is the product I hear about most often when I hear anything about Tom's of Maine. I really enjoyed how this tooth paste made my mouth feel. Most of pastes I have used in the paste leave my mouth with an almost burning sensation from the alcohol they use (at least thats what i assume it is). The taste was not over powering by any means, and my breath was fresh for much longer than with my previous brands.

** The second product I was able to try is the relaxing natural beauty bar with calming lavender. I personally think it smells a bit like pine trees, but not in an over powering way. It left my skin feeling squeaky clean. Also the scent really was calming. I also used it to wash my face and it was very good at getting all my make up off... which I really like!

** The third and final product I was able to review was the children's silly strawberry tooth paste. Now as I have no need to brush my teeth with two different tooth pastes at once I didn't personally test this one out (though i did take a little sample just to see what it tastes like, and found it to be very good). I did have my 21 month old try it out today on his tooth brush and he didn't try to spit it out or make any icky faces so I'm going to say he probably liked it too!

I really enjoyed the opportunity, as well as the products them selves!

Thank you Tom's Of Maine!
